This project is for my girls who love to use power tools (and will make you a convert if you aren\u2019t already).\u00a0 \u00a0There\u2019s something empowering about skillfully wielding a power tool, and this jigsaw cat and ghost project does just the trick.\u00a0 Never fear, we\u2019re using hand held power tools that are great for beginners.<\/p>\n
Here\u2019s what you need to complete this project:<\/u><\/p>\n
1-Jigsaw with a fine blade (or a band saw if you\u2019re ready to invest in my favorite tool for cutting)<\/p>\n
1-Sandpaper or a handheld power sander<\/p>\n
1-Drill with a 5\/16\u201d drill bit<\/p>\n
1-\u00be\u201d #1 pine.\u00a0 Look for a board 4\u2019 x 5\u2019.\u00a0 You\u2019ll have a lot of extra leftover for other cut-outs.\u00a0 #1 pine is a little more expensive because it won\u2019t have a bunch of knots in it, and that\u2019s what you want for this project.<\/p>\n

Bonus Project:\u00a0 The \u201cSpooky\u201d and \u201cBoo\u201d Blocks<\/u><\/p>\n If you liked the \u201cSpooky\u201d and \u201cBoo\u201d Blocks I used to display the Sweet Cat and Friendly Ghost, they\u2019re super-easy to make too!<\/p>\n Just add a piece of 2\u201dx2\u201d pine stud to your shopping list.<\/p>\n I cut mine 8\u201d long for the \u201cSpooky\u201d and 4 \u00bd\u201d long for the \u201cBoo.\u201d\u00a0 Then I sanded them really well and painted them.<\/p>\n Because I own a Cricut die cutting machine, I cut the lettering out of black and orange glitter vinyl.\u00a0 But you can also hand paint the lettering, purchase press-on letters, or use a stencil to outline your letters and fill will glue and glitter.<\/p>\n If you give the Sweet Cat and Friendly Ghost project a try, please let me know in the comments below.\u00a0 I\u2019d really love to see your finished project if you\u2019re willing to share!<\/p>\n I\u2019ve linked my favorite power tools that I used on this project, in case you\u2019re interested in building a great little workshop set of tools, and a link to the pre-cut wheels we used for the project.
