Here\u2019s some inspiration from my Thanksgiving table to yours.\u00a0 Between you and me, these napkins and napkin rings came in at $1 per place setting because I had a handy 50% off coupon for the napkin fabric, and I used some scrap fabric already on hand for the napkin rings.\u00a0 You can really save big by getting creative and shopping your scraps or fabric store remains for the napkin ring material since it only takes \u00bc-yard of fabric.\u00a0 I splurged on a $3 bag of feathers to add pretty detail to the napkin rings, so keep an eye out for little embellishments that you can purchase and keep on hand to add flair to the napkin rings.<\/p>\n

Tutorial for Making your Own Elegant Napkins and Napkin Rings<\/h2>\n

Sew Your Own Napkins-Makes 8<\/strong><\/p>\n

You can get your printable project sheet here<\/a>, so you have all the measurements to take to the fabric store.<\/p>\n

SUPPLIES:<\/p>\n

2 \u00bd yards fabric.\u00a0 I prefer cotton-poly.\u00a0 It sews easily, it\u2019s soft and it washes beautifully.<\/p>\n

Matching thread.<\/p>\n

INSTRUCTIONS:<\/p>\n

Cut 8- 16\u201dx16\u201d squares from the fabric.\u00a0 Fold edges over \u00bc\u201d twice (so the raw edge of the fabric isn\u2019t visible).\u00a0 Sew around all 4 lengths.\u00a0 Repeat for all napkins.<\/p>\n

Make your Own Napkin Rings-Makes 8<\/strong><\/p>\n

SUPPLIES:<\/p>\n

2-paper towel cores (the cardboard center from a paper towel roll)<\/p>\n

\u00bc Yard fabric in a coordinating color or print from your napkin fabric.\u00a0 Thicker, or textured fabrics (like home decorating and upholstery fabric) look best.<\/p>\n

Hot glue gun and sticks<\/p>\n

Embellishments (optional)<\/p>\n

\"How<\/p>\n

INSTRUCTIONS:<\/p>\n

Cut each of the paper towel cores into 4 equal pieces<\/p>\n

Cut the fabric into 8 sections large enough to wrap around the paper core, plus 1 inch.\u00a0 And enough to tuck into the paper core on each end (about \u00bd inch extra on each end).\u00a0 For most napkin rings, your fabric piece will be about 6-1\/2\u201dx4\u201d.<\/p>\n

Center your fabric on the first napkin ring.\u00a0 Fold the end under and glue it, wrapping the cardboard completely.\u00a0 Make sure the fabric reaches over the open ends of the cardboard by \u00bd\u201d on each end.<\/p>\n

Tuck the fabric into each open end of the cardboard, gluing into place.<\/p>\n

Add embellishments as desired.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s it!\u00a0 This project is so cheap, that you don\u2019t have to make any long-term commitments.\u00a0 If you want to use the napkins and napkin rings for one party and then toss them\u2014that\u2019s ok.\u00a0 If you\u2019re like me, you\u2019ll find that you can make 8 napkins and napkin rings in the time it takes to watch 2 episodes on Netflix.\u00a0 And since you\u2019re binge watching Netflix anyway, why not be ultra-productive and whip up some elegant and beautiful napkins with matching napkin rings?<\/p>\n

You can spend the money you saved on some beautiful dishes, or a new crockpot to make it even easier to entertain.<\/p>\n
