Dirt Cheap Ways to Label Your Pantry

Keeping your pantry organized is easier when you have a labeling system. With so many different choices in containers, baskets, boxes and bottles keeping your pantry labelled can be a daunting task. In the past, I’ve been known to get everything organized, right up to the point of labeling everything in the pantry and then I’ve stopped. Hopefully, these tips and links will help you get the most out of your pantry organization by making sure everything is labelled so you can find what you’re looking for right away. Let’s get started.

LABELS WITH FLEXIBILITY

Sometimes I worry that I have a short attention span. I can be like that poor dog in the movie, Up! Squirrel?! And I’m off onto another project. I’ve been known to toy with gluten-free flours, grind my own flaxseed, and buy up half the bulk goods at Sprouts. So, I don’t want permanent labels on every container in my pantry because it may hold Almond Flour one month and dried cranberries the next. That’s why I like chalkboard label options. They’re very popular so you can find them everywhere. I found these at Dollar Tree and at Michaels. You can write on them with a chalkboard marker, and then wipe it off when you need to re-label. I also noticed that the bins at the dollar store now say they’re dry-erase. Simply brilliant.

LABEL CREATIVITY

There are endless, virtually free ways to label your pantry. I found a stash of key labels in my desk drawer and used them to label my baskets. I’ve also been known to write on small Christmas ornaments because they look so darn cute hanging from a basket. I love to go to my computer and design labels on Excel, printing them in color on card stock and attaching with double stick tape.
